If you want abs, well now is that time to work on getting them.

Yes, it will require work and energy but the best part is that you will look and feel better after it is all done.

Who doesn’t want to go back to their office looking their absolute best? Okay, let’s get started.

How to start avoiding weight gain in quarantine?

The first thing is that you have to do, is make a commitment to yourself that you will follow through with this. It’s all about mindset.

Do whatever you have to do to make sure you commit to this rewarding and possibly life-changing endeavor.

Some good suggestions are to make a vision board of a body you would like yours to resemble, which you can keep somewhere in your bedroom or home so you can look at it every day.

Another good idea is to screenshot a picture of your dream body and save it as the background on your phone.

If you feel self-conscious in doing so just save it on the background screen, not the lock screen. With this image in front of you, you’ll be able to see it every time you are looking at your phone.

Now that you have done that.

Start by waking up early. Between 5:00 – 6:30 am. This way you will get more done in the day.

Get out of bed right away and drink a glass of water, preferably squeeze half a lemon or lime into it. Lemon and lime have antioxidants and anticancer properties.

It also helps with clearing your digestive system and can help with boosting your metabolism.

I like to eat some fruits before I workout but if you prefer to work out on an empty stomach that is okay as well.

Now put on your favorite work out outfit and do some stretching and HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training)

I will suggest some of my favorites.

Practical tips to overcome weight gain in quarantine

HIIT Workout

Most of these exercises are only 30 minutes and are very effective as they burn a lot of calories and target fat loss.

I recommend after this to eat a healthy balanced breakfast. Good options are eggs with whole wheat toast or if you are vegan cereal with fruit.

Now you’re ready to start your day and how much better do you feel after crushing a morning workout?!

Now, like most, you’ll still have to have to take care of the kids and work but there is no doubt that you will be more energized than ever after completing your morning workout and eating a healthy breakfast.

If you are looking for a mid-morning snack I would suggest:

  • Yogurt
  • Apple’s or any Fruit
  • Peanut Butter
  • Cottage Cheese
  • Almonds
  • Carrots with Hummus
  • Protein Shake
  • Avocado
  • Olives

Don’t forget to continuously drink water. Take a sip of water at least every 30 minutes.

For lunch, I would suggest a salad. However, salads do not need to be boring.

Salad ideas

Being at home means it is easier for you to take “mini-breaks”. I suggest walking around your home at least once every 90 minutes.

This helps with circulation and keeps your body active.

There are also exercises that you can do while your working from your desk such as calf raises..

Now after you finished your day of work or whatever you are up to, this is the perfect time to move around a little and get another work out in.

This will be a more relaxed one Pilates style which will focus on the butt or abs and again stretching out the body.

These workouts will be shorter and generally under 20 minutes.

Best evening workouts

Now it’s dinner time and you should have something filling but still light.
Fish or chicken with vegetables or some quinoa is a great choice.

If you are still feeling hungry you can have a small square of 75% dark chocolate for dessert. Or you can have a handful of almonds and some healthy Greek yogurt.

Girls, I promise you if you follow this routine and turn into a lifestyle you will have an amazing toned body. However, you need to follow this routine Monday through Friday.

For the weekends if you can go for long walks outside and enjoy nature please do so. You are also allowed one cheat day per week so choose either Saturday or Sunday.

If you feel hungry anytime during the day please just eat one of the above snacks I have mentioned.

One way to help ensure you are sticking with this routine is by buying ONLY healthy food, this way you will not have immediate access to junk food.

With this routine you will begin to have your best body ever!

American and European summer is just around and corner and who doesn’t want to look like this?

Honestly, putting in the work is so worth the results!

Oh, and make sure you are going to bed at a reasonable hour so you are getting your 7-8 hours of beauty sleep to do it all again tomorrow morning. Goodluck!
