What to do to be happy

One of every human being’s main goals is happiness, being able to reach it in a higher level of satisfaction regarding themselves and feeling whole with the life they lead.  For those who believe it’s extremely complex to be a happy person, I can say that being is as simple as you can imagine. Happiness is in the simplest things, in the smallest details and actions that make you improve your life and the life of the people you love.

Happiness isn’t an achievement, but a state of mind. People tend to forget that even though it’s an honest feeling to get happy when you reach your goals, daily happiness is also part of an experience.

Achieving your dreams in a way that you can be happier doesn’t replace the sadness you feel. Feeling happy when reaching your dreams is one of the most important keys you can apply to achieve the goals you established.

What does it mean to be happy?

The answer to this question doesn’t require accuracy, because there is a different kind of happiness for each person, distinct factors that are part of each unique human being.

Some people have happy days just by listening to their favorite songs, while others get that same feeling in feeling fulfilled by doing all the tasks in their task list or in their daily routine.

Explaining this subjectivity is an invitation for self-knowledge. Close your eyes for a minute, clean your mind and tell yourself what are the things in life that make you the happiest.

In case you find it difficult to search for them in your mind, try to remember the last times you smiled, in order to find the ideal trigger for this happiness.

Do you do anything to feel happy?

The second question needs to be answered after looking deeper to yourself, searching for the answers through your efforts to reach happiness.

Taking into consideration what triggers your satisfaction, do you really do anything you could to feel satisfied with yourself?

Being more objective, I’m going to mention a practical and simple example. Imagine that John took a test and found out that some of the things that bring out a feeling of happiness in him is drawing in his spare time.

Even though he isn’t very much organized regarding his domestic and work tasks, having little time to dedicate himself to his hobby and to drawing, the conclusion is that he isn’t dedicating himself fully, doing anything necessary to be happy.

In this example, it’s important to highlight that he tries hard to organize his routine and professional tasks, being able to do all of them faster and to have some spare time to draw.

Even though it seems obvious, it’s possible that he doesn’t realize for a long time what is keeping him from being happy in his hectic routine.

Do you want to know how to live in order to be happy? To start this long process, it’s necessary to take care of yourself. Even though it is obvious, a lot of people aren’t part of this process and skip this step.

This way, they try to be content with new goals or establishing new patterns that reach perfection.

Being kind to yourself completely changes the most sophisticated goals. The entrepreneur Daylle Deanna Schwartz, the author of more than 15 books, believes in showing appreciation to build trust. The happiest people know the steps they need to take in order to take care of themselves and know how to say “no” when necessary.

The expression “When you love, you learn that saying no is part of something greater, so you won’t harvest negative feelings.”

If happiness creates more success, it’s necessary to work on this feeling on a daily basis, being part of an experience to reach success. People need to give up the things that don’t add anything to their lives and to stop fighting against the ones that doesn’t help them.

There is a lot of baggage that becomes obstacles that stop people from being happy. There are happiness blockers inside anyone.

People can be and are successful through their attempts to throw away the things that are harmful to their lives. Any person can allow themselves to do this, as long as they identify or filter the things that need to be discarded, finding out the they have always been happy.

In order to find the path to happiness, follow the ten life-altering rules below, so you can be happier every day.

1. Do something good for yourself daily

Keep up with this habit and this relationship with yourself, because it’s about love and affection, necessary feeling for any human being. People that strengthen this affectional bond with themselves feel more motivated and don’t allow people to undermine them.

2. Forgive yourself

Forgiving yourself, no matter the mistake, isn’t always easy, because there is a tendency to guilt yourself over things that haven’t worked out in the past.

People tend to make it harder when they try to be perfect and later punish themselves for it. A recommended exercise is to look yourself in the mirror and say the following words: I love and forgive myself.

3. Accept yourself just the way you are

The author highlights the discontent with the body and the age, two of the mains points that act as personal obstacles. To be happy, it’s necessary to allow yourself to learn and appreciate what you have.

Besides that, self-acceptance also involves knowing your income source and your way to success, considering that not earning what is expected to a certain age isn’t a serious problem.

4. Remove toxic people from your life

Avoid relationships with clients, associates, investors or employees that bring negative feelings to your life. The hardest part is having a relative that acts this way, but there are no reasons to put up with rude people.

5. Make your health a priority

Always pay attention to recognize a balance between what is healthy and what is pleasant. Don’t punish yourself though your diet or your absence at the gym. Be disciplined, but always try to understand your wishes and desires.

6. Stop skipping meals

Being busy isn’t a reason not to eat. The author highlights that skipping meals reduces the blood sugar level and increases stress daily. If you don’t have enough time to eat, improvise a healthy and practical snack.

7. Breathe!

When you feel stressed or sad, practice breathing exercise. It makes you calm and happy again.

8. Have a cozy space

Tidying up your room and your stuff makes the place more receptive for when you get home exhausted.

This same posture needs to happen at work, in the office, by throwing away unnecessary pieces of paper and disposable messes, organizing your belongings, but that isn’t all.

Decorate your room, so it will become a more pleasant space for you.

9. Sunbathe

Working all day indoors causes the body not to get the adequate vitamins provided by sunlight, which turns into something unhealthy.

If this is your case, allow yourself to go out from time to time to sunbathe. Besides that, buy clear lamp to light up the room.

10. Gift yourself with quality products

If you are someone who gifts your friends with sophisticated things, but buys yourself cheap products to yourself in order to save up some money. If the product is indifferent, there isn’t a problem in that.

However, if you are interested, buy something more sophisticated whenever possible, so you can use it. This way, you reinforce the idea that you also deserved good quality things.

Now it’s your turn, think about your daily efforts to do what makes you happy. Did you do this with your quality time, in order to reach the goal of being happy?
